Why don’t we just admit that the 401(k) is a failure and get on to designing something better?
I still think that 401(k)s are okay but should not be at the core of your saving strategy. However with the removal of pension plans and most people’s inability to save they evolved into the main saving vehicle for most families. When you hit clean you have to drive in runs, 401 (k)s just cannot bring home the runners.
Most people don’t have the knowledge, time or inclination to manage their investments wisely. Don’t stop contributing to your 401(k), especially if you firm matches your contributions. There are better ways you should be saving for retirement.
Your future when counting on a 401(k) plan is dependent on how the stock market does. Your retirement could be extraordinary or fall flat all depending on which stocks you select and when you select them. Our main retirement funding vehicle should provide clear investment returns and not be subject to the roller coast rides of the market place, which too often are not logical.
Contact me and I will develop a custom retirement plan to maximize you investment potential.
